INTRODUCTION

Generative AI Policies has rapidly transformed the landscape of scholarly communication by providing powerful tools that assist researchers in writing, editing, programming, data analysis, visualization, and content generation. While these technologies offer significant opportunities to improve research productivity and communication, they also introduce important ethical, legal, and academic integrity considerations that require responsible use.

Bridging of Emerging AI and Media Broadcasting (BEAM) recognizes the growing role of Generative AI in research and scientific publishing. As a journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, Media Broadcasting, Digital Communication, and related interdisciplinary fields, BEAM encourages innovation while upholding the highest standards of research integrity, transparency, originality, and accountability.

FOR AUTHOR

Bridging of Emerging AI and Media Broadcasting (BEAM) acknowledges that Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) technologies can assist researchers in improving the readability, language quality, and presentation of scholarly manuscripts. However, the use of AI must always support not replace human intellectual contributions and scientific responsibility.

Authors may use Generative AI tools for language editing, grammar improvement, formatting assistance, summarization, code explanation, or brainstorming. Nevertheless, all scientific interpretations, research design, methodology, data analysis, conclusions, and ethical decisions remain entirely the responsibility of the authors.

DISCLOSURE OF AI USE

Authors who use Generative AI during manuscript preparation must disclose its use in a separate section entitled:

During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used ChatGPT (OpenAI) to improve language quality and readability. All generated content was carefully reviewed, revised, and verified by the authors, who assume full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the submitted work.

Disclosure is not required for basic spelling checkers, grammar correction software, or reference management tools that do not generate scholarly content.

IMAGES, FIGURES, AND RESEARCH DATA

BEAM Journal does not permit the use of Generative AI to create, manipulate, or alter research images, figures, graphs, tables, or datasets in ways that could misrepresent research findings.

The use of AI-generated visual content is only acceptable when:

    • It forms part of the research methodology;
    • It is clearly disclosed;
    • It is scientifically justified;
    • It does not violate copyright or intellectual property rights.

REVIEWERS

Peer reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the peer review process. Reviewers should not upload confidential manuscripts, reviewer reports, or unpublished data into publicly available Generative AI systems, as doing so may violate confidentiality obligations.

Reviewers may use AI tools only for minor language assistance or organizational purposes, provided that:

  • manuscript confidentiality is fully preserved;
  • no confidential information is shared with AI services;
  • all scientific judgments remain solely the responsibility of the reviewer.

Editorial decisions must always be based on independent human expertise rather than automated AI recommendations.

EDITORS

Editors may use AI-assisted technologies to support editorial administration, including language improvement, plagiarism screening support, metadata organization, and workflow efficiency.

However, AI shall never replace editorial judgment regarding:

  • manuscript suitability;
  • ethical evaluation;
  • reviewer selection;
  • peer-review decisions;
  • acceptance or rejection decisions.

Editors remain fully accountable for every editorial decision made by BEAM.

POLICY COMPLIANCE

Failure to comply with this policy may result in:

  • Requests for clarification;
  • Manuscript revision;
  • Rejection before publication;
  • Publication of corrections;
  • Retraction after publication;
  • Additional editorial actions in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics.

BEAM Journal reserves the right to update this policy as international standards for scholarly publishing and Generative AI continue to evolve.
