Author Guidelines

Here are the author guidelines for Health, Empathy, and AI Learning (HEAL):

  1. Manuscripts must be written in English, with one column and follow the official HEAL manuscript template. Authors must ensure that their submissions are original, have not been previously published, and are not under consideration by another journal. The manuscript template and submission information are available on here.

  2. HEAL accepts the following manuscript types:

    • Original Research Article: Presents original empirical research using quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, or experimental approaches with clear scientific contributions.

    • Review Article: Provides a systematic and critical review of existing literature, including Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR), Scoping Reviews, and Bibliometric Reviews.

    • Conceptual and Theoretical Article: Develops new theoretical perspectives, conceptual frameworks, or research models supported by relevant scholarly literature.

    • Technology and Application Article: Presents the development, implementation, or evaluation of technologies such as AI, IoT, blockchain, and digital platforms with relevance to technopreneurship.

    • Case Study Article: Examines real-world cases involving startups, SMEs, organizations, or technology-based entrepreneurial activities and provides meaningful theoretical or practical insights.

  3. The manuscript must be prepared in Microsoft Word, PDF, Latex format using A4 paper, a two-column layout, Times New Roman 12-point font, single spacing, and 3 cm margins on all sides. The maximum manuscript length is 14 pages (additional pages will be incur an extra fee), including figures, tables, declarations, and references. Authors must submit their manuscripts through the HEAL online submission system.

  4. The manuscript format must follow the official HEAL template and contain the following sections:

    • TITLE: The title should be concise, informative, and accurately represent the research content. Avoid unnecessary words and abbreviations. The title must use Times New Roman, centered, bold, 16-point font.

    • AUTHORS: Author names must be accompanied by institutional affiliations, email addresses, and ORCID identifiers. One author must be designated as the corresponding author. Academic titles and professional positions should not be included.

    • ABSTRACT: The Abstract must contain 200–250 words, written in one paragraph using Times New Roman 12-point italic font. It should follow the Background, Objective, Method, Results, and Conclusion (BOMRC) structure and clearly explain the research novelty. Citations and unnecessary abbreviations should be avoided.

    • KEYWORDS: Authors must provide five relevant keywords representing the main research concepts, methods, or technologies to improve article discoverability and indexing.

    • INTRODUCTION: The Introduction should explain the research background, problem statement, relevant previous studies, research gap, novelty, and objectives. Authors should clearly demonstrate the significance of the study and its contribution to relevant Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where applicable.

    • LITERATURE REVIEW AND THEORETICAL BASIS: This section should critically discuss relevant theories, concepts, and previous research. Authors must identify research gaps, establish the theoretical foundation, and develop conceptual frameworks or hypotheses where appropriate.

    • PROPOSED METHOD/ALGORITHM (OPTIONAL): This section may describe a newly developed method, algorithm, model, or technological framework. Authors should explain its design, originality, procedures, and advantages compared with existing approaches.

    • RESEARCH METHOD: The methodology must explain the research design, sampling procedures, data sources, research instruments, data collection, and analytical techniques. The explanation should be sufficiently detailed to ensure research transparency and reproducibility.

    • RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: This section must present research findings systematically using appropriate evidence, including tables, figures, statistical analyses, or qualitative findings. Authors should interpret the results, compare them with previous studies, and explain their theoretical and practical contributions.

    • MANAGERIAL IMPLICATIONS: This section must describe how the findings can be applied by managers, entrepreneurs, organizations, or policymakers. Recommendations should be practical, actionable, and directly supported by the research results.

    • CONCLUSION: The Conclusion must summarize the main findings, research contributions, limitations, and future research opportunities. It should address the research objectives without repeating the Abstract and must be written in paragraph form without bullet points.

    • DECLARATIONS: All manuscripts must include the following information:

      • About Authors: Provide the authors' initials and ORCID identifiers.

      • Author Contributions: Describe each author's contributions to the research and manuscript preparation.

      • Data Availability Statement: Explain the accessibility of the research data.

      • Funding: Disclose financial support or state that no external funding was received.

      • Declaration of Conflicting Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest or declare their absence.

      • Ethical Approval (Where Applicable): Provide ethical approval and informed consent information when required.

    • REFERENCES: References must follow the numerical IEEE citation style and be arranged according to their order of appearance in the manuscript. Authors should prioritize reputable journal publications from the last five years, while relevant foundational references may also be included. All references must be cited in the manuscript, and DOIs should be provided where available.

  5. Tables must be numbered consecutively, such as Table 1. Research Variables. Table numbers and captions must be placed above the tables. Each table must be clearly referenced and discussed in the manuscript.

  6. Figures must be numbered consecutively, such as Figure 1. Research Framework. Figure numbers and captions must be placed below the figures. All figures must be high-resolution, clearly readable, and appropriately referenced in the text.

  7. Mathematical Formulas and Equations must be written using Microsoft Equation Editor or MathType. Equations should be centered and numbered sequentially, such as (1), (2), and (3). All mathematical symbols and variables must be clearly defined.

  8. Citations and References must follow the numerical IEEE style as specified in the HEAL template. Citations should use square brackets, such as [1], [2], and [3], with references numbered according to their first appearance in the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero to maintain consistency.

  9. Publication Ethics: Authors must comply with academic integrity and publication ethics standards. Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, and simultaneous submission are strictly prohibited. Authors are responsible for the originality and accuracy of their manuscripts.

  10. Language and Manuscript Quality: Manuscripts must be written in clear academic English, with consistent terminology, appropriate grammar, and accurate spelling. Authors should carefully review the manuscript before submission to ensure compliance with HEAL formatting and writing standards.

  11. Submission Process: Authors must submit manuscripts through the official HEAL online submission system at https://journal.sundarapublishing.com/index.php/heal.
